    Zendo is an amazing coffee shop in ALbuquerque that serves locally brewed and fresh coffee. Zendo is located in the heart of downtown Albuquerque. A perfect spot for the city dweller who needs quick access to a fresh cup of coffee in the hustle and bustle of downtown Albuquerque. An awesome spot if you are wanting to do homework with a group of friends or if you are just wanting to read a good book in the relaxing atmosphere of a coffee shop. Zendo has an extensive menu consisting of Espresso, to flat whites, to housespecialties such as the Aztec lattes or a marocchino. Zendo is an awesome place to check out whenever you’re needing a midday boost.

    Little bear is an awesome and unique coffee shop suited for those who want to feel cozy and at home away from home at one location. The other location is a more urban city vibe perfect for those who want a different atmosphere. The people are super friendly and welcoming no matter which location, which helps create a super warm atmosphere. With two locations, you are sure to be able to find a vibe that suits you and that is convenient for you. The original location is located off of Pennsylvania st close to Corando mall, so if you need to do some studying After some retail therapy, then little bear is perfect for you. They have all of the staples from Lattes to macchiatos. They also partner with a local restaurant to serve delicious local burritos. Little bear is a perfect place to spend hours at focusing on your latest assignment while having some of the best coffee in town.

Villa Myriam is one of the best coffee shops in town hands down. The only reason it isn’t number 1 is for only being open until mid afternoon most days. If i could I would spend most nights doing homework there. The coffee they serve is top notch and the food they serve is of amazing quality. Not only is their food and coffee good, but their prices are amazing as well. They have some of the most affordable menus I’ve seen and they serve locally sourced food. They even partner with UNM and local charities to host events and to create and sponsor drinks. Villa Myriam is an all around amazing coffee shop that you need to visit as soon as you can. 


2. Piñon Coffee House


Piñon coffee house is a locally made coffee shop that started off selling coffee grounds in grocery stores and was so popular and successful that they were able to start opening physical locations. They have tons of locations all around Albuquerque so you are able to find a location that is most convenient for you! They are always innovating with their coffee as well as they always have seasonal drinks that are super creative. They are also great locations to study at and to eat at too as they have great food ranging from burritos to pastries. Piñon is also super convenient for the busy bee as they also have drive thrus which is important for people on the go who need a pick me up.

Flying Star earns the top spot on our list for many reasons. THey have awesome coffee with a simple menu that wont leave you confused and gets you straight to the point. The coffee they have is awesome and local as well which is great for local farmers. They are also a full fledged restaurant with amazing award winning dishes such as a green chile cheeseburger to a Mac and cheese sandwich to fish and chips. Being a restaurant mixed coffee shop, they are able to be open later than most other coffee shops. Not only is the awesome for the restaurant aspect, but also for students who need to study later at night to meet those late at night deadlines. They also serve alcohol such as wine and local on tap beers that are the perfect date night drink. Flying star also has many locations across town allowing for different atmospheres depending on what you are looking for. For many reasons, Flying star is the best coffee shop in Albuquerque and deserves to be visited next time you are cramming for a test the next day.
